Can you believe this is the 7th valentines day Mark and I have celebrated together?! Actually I can’t believe it, did I do the math wrong?
Our love has really changed and evolved over the years. We’ve come a long way from our first valentines day when Mark told me he was going home for the weekend and then surprised me that night at my door to take me out to dinner. And I can never forget when he tbought it would be funny to tell the waitress at Olive Garden that I was his sister…and then he nevet told her that he was joking, so it was awkward the rest of the night. He’s matured a lot since then!
I love holidays and Valentines day is obviously included. A whole day dedicated to love and the people you love! We had a really chill valentines this year which was nice. We’ve been so busy and running around lately. We got home from work and Mark was trying to think of somewhere to go for dinner but nothing was really sounding that good and I didn’t feel like getting dressed up and waiting for a table so we opted for something much more casual…Habit burger! I love Habit burger!!! Their teriyaki pineapple is to die for! we even took it to go and ate in the comfort of our own home hahah. I can’t remember if we watched the olympics or a movie…but then we went to get Kamba juice and called it a night! We went to breakfast at the yummy Denicas and spent the rest of the day relaxing at home.
It was the perfect weekend. Most of the time I love getting dolled up and going out but sometimes it’s better to relax with your love.
Hope everyone had a wonderful valentines day full of love!
I’ve got some big news! I got hired by Safeway Corporate! I wanted to work for Safeway when I graduated college and had been applying like crazy when we first moved back here. Now, 2 years later, I finally got hired! It is so crazy, a little nerve-wracking, and very exciting. Safeway is a Fortune 500 company and I finally have my foot in the corporate world. I’m on my first stepping stone to my career! I went over to my parents house last night to tell my family and my sister Courtney said “cool, so you’re going to be a bagger?” Haha thanks for the support Court! No my title is Promotion Specialist in the beverages department…I’ll tell you what I do when I find out…on my first day, which is MONDAY! Yeah, like this coming Monday! The Corporate offices are across the freeway from me, about a 10 minute drive from my house. Not a bad commute, huh?!
I’m so excited for this opportunity and new adventure. I have to thank Mark for continually encouraging me to keep applying, even when I thought I would never be hired and was sick of being turned down for not having enough experience. I would have never kept applying if it weren’t for you.
Here’s to no more receptionist/admin. assistant jobs!
Last week we checked a big thing off our bucket list…we went on a cruise! We have been wanting to go on a cruise together since we got married and we finally made time for it! Mark’s been on a few cruises and I’ve been on a little 3day one from southern California to Mexico.
Our cruise took off from Miami and we went to the Eastern Caribbean! It was so beautiful and perfect. The first night and full day were rough waters and we felt a little sick in our room but we took Dramamine before we went to bed and didn’t have any problems! I’m so glad we did this. Our friends Jenn & Scott came with us, it was so much fun to have another couple with us! We went to Nassau (Bahamas), St. Thomas, San Juan (Puerto Rico) & Grand Turk. I wasn’t expecting much from San Juan & Grand Turk but they turned out to be 2 of my favorite places. They were breathtakingly beautiful. We went parasailing, catamaraning, snorkeling, and power snorkeling. We laid out at the beach, by the pool, went to every show on board each night, gambled at the casino, danced, ate our weight in food (especially the midnight pizza & soft serve) and had the best week! I love traveling with my husband, it is our biggest passion together.
